Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you and your family enjoyed your time together, relaxing before getting back into the school routine after our holiday break. I want to thank all of you who attended our Fabulous Winter Performance. The cafeteria was packed by proud parents, grandparents and siblings, and the visit with Santa was icing on the cake. All the children’s presentations were precious, kudos to the teachers and students for a wonderful program. What a success!!!
As we begin our 2nd trimester, let’s remember that this is the critical learning time, when our children learn the most, they have matured and know the classroom routines. Please continue to encourage your children to meet their A.R. monthly goals and to strive to raise their performance levels in Successmaker. Remind them to visit the school library and the computer lab before and after school. We must continue to push our students to academic excellence and hold them accountable for their actions. Supporting students in their education is our job, please talk to us, we are here to help!
Tardies and Absences
Good school attendance is extremely important for the success of the student. Please make sure that every effort is made to ensure that your child arrives to school on time and misses only when absolutely necessary. If your child is late to school or needs to miss due to an illness or a medical appointment please make sure you call the school at 986-8740. This call should be made each day your child is going to be absent. Attendance and success at school go hand-in-hand. Although we still have more tardies than we’d like, we appreciate that families are working hard to get their children to school on time. Some of you have received a letter of notification for excessive tardies and/or absences. Another will be going out soon. My goal is that we don’t have to send any! Thank you for working with us to be sure class begins on time with very few interruptions.
