School starts at 8:00 each morning (change from 8:03 last year)  Students not with their teacher at 8:00 sharp will be considered tardy.  This affects perfect attendance and tardies can not be made up. Please make sure students are here everyday and on time. Grades 1-5 students enter through the back gate unless they are going to eat breakfast in the cafeteria.

Every Thursday is Early release day- Dismissal at 12:35 for grades 1-3 and 12:45 for grade 4-5  (*NEW Time*) Please plan for on-time pick-up for students who do not walk home.

  • Volunteers Needed

We need parent volunteers for our School Site Council  (SSC) and English Learners Advisory Council (ELAC). A volunteer form is in the first day packet (or ask for one in the office) if you think you can help us.  Each group meets 4-5 times a year and they help us determine how to make our students more successful in school.  Elections will be held on our back to school night Sept 10th.  If you are interested please make sure we have the form with at least your name and phone number by Sept 4th.  There are also other volunteer opportunities available.  Please get involved and help us make this a successful school year for our students.

  • Attendance
Congratulations!!! We made our annual goal of 97% attendance or better. In fact we improved over the previous year from 97.22% to 97.58% Students, look at the daily attendance tracker in the cafeteria each month to see how well we are doing. Let's see if we can improve even more next year. Students should come to school on time, every day, unless they are ill. The students should be in line by 7:55 to walk in at 8:00. The side gate will be locked when the bell rings and students arriving after 8:00 will be marked tardy (this impacts a student's attendance and disrupts the start of class).  Great job in 2014-15 Wildcats!

  •  Healthy Breakfast
Do you want to avoid the congestion at the start of the school day and make sure your child has a healthy start to the day? Send them to breakfast as early as 7:30.  Students can eat then walk through the quad back to their lines.  Little ones will be escorted by staff if needed. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 7:50 each day.  The doors close at 7:50 so that students finish before the bell rings.  Please make sure to arrive on time. It's a win, win situation!

  • Parking Lot Safety
Please follow the directions of the supervisor(s) guiding traffic and avoid unsafe behaviors.  Due to the limited number of parking spaces, please do not park in the lot during drop-off times as the spaces are needed for school employees.  Street parking is available on Anchorage, Bard, and neighboring streets. Please follow all parking regulations. The red curb is a no parking area. The white zone at the front of the school and the turn around area at the side are for immediate pick-up and drop-off only.  Drivers need to stay in their vehicles for safety and to avoid congestion.  Please consider the safety of the students over adult convenience while driving on campus.
