ACCELERATED READER PROGRAM (AR)

Accelerated Reader is a computerized reading enhancement program that allows students to read and take quizzes on books they have read. Reading goals are established by the teachers and students. Students earn points and prizes for passing tests on the books they read. The AR program helps motivate students to read books. It is hoped that this will lead to the development of a love for reading that will last a lifetime. This year at William School, we are working to expand our AR program as we know that READING is the key to school success. We are using AR and many other tools to encourage every student, at every level, to learn to love to read.   We want for them to find books about topics that interest them, to improve their reading level and ability to understand what they read, and to improve all of their school achievement through the process of reading every day. We invite parents, students, teachers, and the community to join us in helping our AR program grow.
