Dual Immersion
Bard is proud to announce that the 2011-12 school year saw our first cohort of students that had been in the two way, or dual immersion program from kinder to 6th grade. They moved on to E.O. Green Jr. High in 2012-13. We hope the program continues to grow through high school where one of our feeder schools (Hueneme High) is preparing for the program to continue on. In 2014 our two classroom model will have enough students to move to the fourth grade as well. That growth will help ensure the continued success of the program. If you know of students who are in the upper grades and are bilingual and bi-literate refer them to our program so we can help grow those skills.
Our model is a 50-50 model where the students receive instruction in English for 50% of the time and in Spanish for 50% of the time.
