In partnership with Channel Islands National Park, Ventura County Office of Education, and the Bay Watershed Education and Training (BWET), Blackstock Junior High was honored to host the first integration of the Live Dive at a school site on June 11, 2008.
The participation of four 6th grade classes, Ms. Mojica, Mrs. Yates, Mrs. Krause, and Mr. Mortensen also included each student receiving their Junior Ranger badges!  The Live Dive provided a dedicated audio and video feed between Blackstock and the research port at Anacapa Island.  Participants were able to interact with naturalists located on the island and a diver during an actual dive! As the dive continued, the students recorded on a Live Dive Collection Sheet each species they observed.  They kept count by using tally marks below the picture of each species.
