Adult ELD Welcome Message |

The Hueneme Elementary School District provides free Adult English Language Development (ELD) classes to about 200 parents throughout the district. Title 1 parent education monies provide opportunities for parents to learn English-as-A-Second-Language (ESL) with the condition that they use it to help tutor their children and help them to succeed in school. The curriculum consists of small group instruction using Side By Side and individualized immersion via The Rosetta Stone software. ELD classes taught by certificated HESD teachers include evening and daytime classes at several school sites. Most sites also provide free childcare for participants' children ages 3 and above.
