Meetings of the Hueneme Board of Education
The Hueneme ESD Trustees meet once a month, generally on the fourth Monday, unless legal requirements or a Monday holiday cause the meeting to be held on a different day. September and December meetings are held on the second Monday for legal reasons.
Meetings begin with a call to order at 5:30 P.M. in Council Chambers at Port Hueneme City Hall, 250 N. Ventura Road, Port Hueneme. Any change of venue will be appropriately communicated to the public. The public is encouraged to attend meetings. Individuals may speak to the Board during the open session that begins at approximately 6:30 P.M. (after the Board returns from Closed Session discussions).
Occasionally, the Board will call a special meeting to deal with matters that cannot wait for the next regularly scheduled meeting, or to conduct a study session on school-related topics. These meetings also generally begin at 5:30 P.M., but the public session begins after the Call to Order. Specially called meetings are most often held at the District Office or at one of the District schools.
Notice of all meetings is e-mailed to a variety of recipients including our schools and other sites, local libraries, the media, and individuals who have subscribed. All meeting documents are posted in the week prior to a meeting, on this website, and are available to the public in PDF format.
