I was born and grew up in Zimbabwe, Southern Africa where I attended British-type schools, and lived in a small rural town. I then headed "south"to attend university in Natal, South Africa, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology. I thereafter spent a year in Cape Town, getting a postgraduate degree in Education. Upon completion, I returned to the capital city of Harare in Zimbabwe and took up teaching at a public school. I finally emigrated to the United States in 1986 with my husband and child, and settled in Ojai, California. Due to the demands of motherhood, I chose to limit my teaching to private schools in Ojai, including the Weil Tennis Academy , where I was the principal for five years. Once my children were grown, I immediately stepped into public school teaching where I have been happily ensconced ever since! I completed a master's degree in education last year and recently became a National Board Certified teacher. As anyone who knows me can attest to, I am a huge Dodger fan! I also enjoy puzzles, particularly Sudoku, and love to travel.
