After School Education and Safety (ASES) Programs are offered at 10 schools in the district from dismissal to 6:00 p.m. every day that school is in session during the year. Elementary students attending Richard Bard, Julien Hathaway, Art Haycox, Hueneme, Ansgar Larsen, Parkview, Sunkist and Fred L. Williams Schools are required to attend a minimum of 15 hours each week. Junior high students attending Charles F. Blackstock and E.O. Green Schools are required to attend a minimum of nine hours each week; 3 days a week for 3 hours each day. Priority for participation is given to students who are at-risk of not meeting grade level standards. Each school also has credentialed teachers and/or para-educators to provide strategic academic interventions for students that address specific skill areas in reading and/or math. Parents interested in having their child enrolled in ASES may contact the school principal or the ASES site coordinator to inquire about enrolling their child in the program.
