Families came together for our Día de los Muertos event, a beautiful evening honoring tradition, remembrance, and community. The celebration featured vibrant decorations, family ofrendas, crafts, music, and plenty of smiles! 🎨🕯️✨

Our 2nd graders joined Ms. Cassandra in the reading garden for a special Farm to School lesson — the story of the Three Sisters, a Native American legend about corn, beans, and squash. Students discovered how these three plants grow best when planted together, each helping the others thrive, a beautiful lesson in nature, teamwork, and balance! 🌞🍃

Ms. Nickols’ 3rd grade class tapped into their creative side during an art lesson with Ms. Nabors, focusing on warm and cool colors. Using tempera paint Kwik Stix, students created vibrant lava lamp paintings. One student thoughtfully remarked, “The blobs won’t be moving, but it will be beautiful”—a perfect description of their colorful masterpieces!

The E.O. Green Junior High Band kicked off their district-wide tour with an energetic performance at Sunkist Elementary! Their goal? To showcase the excitement of their amazing band program and inspire incoming 6th graders to join. The students were treated to a variety of tunes, and several of the band members—proud Sunkist alumni—shared their journeys from elementary school to the stage. A powerful reminder of how music education builds confidence, creativity, and community.

Our Hueneme Elementary TK and Kindergarten students lit up the stage during their recent family performance. With infectious energy and joyful choreography, two classes took turns showcasing what they had learned. It was a fun-filled celebration of creativity and movement shared with loved ones.
